INTRODUCTION TO BALINESE MASSAGE AND CULTURAL DISCOVERY

This tour in a small group (maximum 8 people) will introduce you to Balinese culture and introduce you to Balinese massage. Option to extend your stay.

Day 1

Departure and overnight flight

Day 2

SANUR

  • Arrive at Denpasar airport (Bali) and transfer to your accommodation in Sanur, a seaside resort in southern Bali. Sanur Bay stretches over 15 km of golden sand. The sea is calm and you’ll have the chance to stroll along its seafront promenade.
  • Free time until dinner to get to know each other, present the tour and answer any questions you may have.
  • Meals included: dinner
  • Night in Sanur

Day 3

UBUD

  • In the morning, after breakfast, massage to recover from your long journey.
  • Free time to enjoy the beach or the town.
  • Lunch at leisure
  • In the early afternoon, transfer to Ubud, the island’s cultural and wellness capital.
  • Introduction to Balinese massage. This massage combines traditional kneading, stretching and digitopressure techniques to restore balance to the body’s energies. Using soothing essential oils, it stimulates blood circulation and deeply relaxes the muscles.

Day 4

UBUD

  • After breakfast, a purifying bath in the sacred waters of a temple in the heart of nature, far from the crowds.
  • Lunch at leisure
  • In the afternoon, introduction to Balinese massage.
  • Traditional dance show in the evening. Deeply rooted in the island’s culture, the dances tell mythological and spiritual stories. The richly decorated costumes and haunting rhythms of the Balinese gamelans accompany these artistic performances, creating a unique visual and auditory experience.
  • Meals included: breakfast
  • Overnight in Ubud

Day 5

UBUD

  • After breakfast, visit a 10th-century mausoleum and a temple preserved at the bottom of a pretty valley with tiered rice fields.
  • Lunch at leisure
  • Afternoon introduction to Balinese massage.
  • Evening at leisure
  • Meals included: breakfast
  • Night in Ubud

Day 6

UBUD

  • This day will be dedicated to discovering the uniqueness of Balinese culture: after visiting the local market, you will learn to cook some traditional recipes that you will enjoy for lunch and to make traditional offerings.
  • Dinner and evening at leisure
  • Meals included: breakfast and lunch
  • Overnight in Ubud

Day 7

SERIRIT

  • After breakfast, departure for the unspoilt north of the island. Visit the sumptuous waterfalls in the heart of nature, where you can bathe in their invigorating waters.
  • Lunch together
  • Visit the hot, slightly sulphurous thermal baths to relax.
  • At the end of the day, mindfulness meditation.
  • Meals included: breakfast and lunch
  • Overnight in Séririt

Day 8

AMED

  • After breakfast, transfer to the black-sand seaside resort of Amed, a small fishing port with a calm and serene atmosphere.
  • Day at leisure. Possibility of snorkelling from the beach (optional).
  • At the end of the day, sunset with a view of Mount Agung from a traditional fisherman’s boat.
  • Meals included: breakfast
  • Overnight in Amed

Day 9

SIDEMEN

  • After breakfast, departure for the valley of Sidemen, sculpted by rice fields and plantations. Sidemen is a small country town that has managed to preserve its authenticity. On the way, visit a water palace with superb pools and numerous statues.
  • Lunch at leisure
  • Afternoon stroll through the rice paddies in full consciousness
  • Late afternoon massage
  • Dinner at leisure
  • Meals included: breakfast
  • Night in Sidemen

Day 10

SIDEMEN

  • After breakfast, workshop in the making of Jamu, a traditional drink made from plants and roots with many virtues.
  • Lunch at leisure
  • In the afternoon, silver jewellery workshop.
  • In the late afternoon, foot reflexology workshop.
  • Dinner on your own
  • Meals included: breakfast
  • Overnight in Sidemen

Day 11

JIMBARAN

  • After breakfast, departure for Jimbaran, a fishing port on the south coast with a large beach of golden sand. Visit the fish market.
  • Lunch and afternoon at leisure.
  • Dinner on the beach
  • Meals included : breakfast and dinner
  • Night in Jimbaran

Day 12

JIMBARAN

  • Day at leisure. Airport transfer according to your flight.

  • Flights (we can include them on request)
  • The tourist tax introduced on 14/02/2024 by the Balinese government of IDR 150,000, i.e. around €9 per traveller, to be paid before departure or at the airport (see our traveller’s guide).
